Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) more popularly known as her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. In the month of October Ari Lennox debuted her Pho EP. This was the moment that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012, with the release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw her release more music via the Internet including Bound. The track Sweat it is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to work together with Rihanna. She was officially signed by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat, a track she sang alongside Cozz for the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016, the artist released her debut album entitled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed as part of her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening artist. The singer also performed on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas, her labelmates. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video for it was released on September 5th. Then on the 9th of November the singer released two more singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On the 13th of November two singles called The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track she sang together with Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on November 16th. It was then released as a single on its own in February of 2019 to coincide with the release of her debut album. In February her music video to this track debuted. The track has garnered over 3 million YouTube views within a week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
